Originally fully lacquered with black lacquer, the top lacquer has long since worn from everyday use revealing a beautiful northern elm grain. Old incense marks and wear can be seen on the top giving a good patina. Perfect for a small desk in a study or as a dressing table. Altar tables were used for ancestor worship in China
