Gilded Teak Burmese Standing Buddha from Mandalay - 19th Century Material - Red Coral fingers pointing to the groundThis gilded teak standing Mandalay Buddha is from Burma and was crafted during the Mandalay period (1853 1948), circa 1890. Buddha can be seen with a youthful expression wearing traditional Burmese attire with inlaid coloured glass decoration. Buddha is depicted here in the traditional Mandalay buddha form standing in samabhanga posture with his left hand holding his robe and his right hand forming the vitarka mudra whilst holding the fruit of the
